IIT Bombay signed a Memorandum of understanding with Swansea University, UK on 21/4/2017. In order to promote cooperation the two institutions agree to encourage direct contact and mutually beneficial cooperation between their respective faculty, research institutes, departments and administrative staff.
The initial area of collaboration will be through :
Visit and exchange by faculty members and research scholars.
Joint research activities and joint supervision of research work.
Joint conference and symposia on subjects of mutual interest.
Exchange of information including, but not limited, research publications of faculty members.
Themes of joint activities, condition for utilising the results achieved as well as arrangements for specific visits and exchanges of Faculty members and researchers shall be defined on case by case specific agreement.
Swansea University is a public research university located in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom. It was chartered as University College of Swansea in 1920, as the fourth college of the University of Wales and in 1948 became the first campus university in UK. In 1996. It is the third largest university in Wales in terms of number of students. It currently offers about 330 undergraduate courses and 120 post-graduate courses to 17,445 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
