Hemant Patel
Hemant first launched "In service of the lady" campaign for his Hostel 7 in 2006 to provide financial aid to the mess workers of H7 and to also collect funds for hostel improvements.

He was instrumental in rounding up several H7 alumni which saw a successful fund collection of over Rs. 30 lakhs. Subsequently, Hemant extended this campaign to all hostels which saw the formation of an initiative named HATS (Hostel Alumni Team Stewardship).

In 2009, taking a cue from Hemant's efforts, H4 launched an equally successful campaign in the form of H4 HATS which drew the attention of several alumni. Eventually, this has culminated in an active participation by several alumni from all hostels and Hemant is spearheading efforts to launch HATS in all hostels by 2010.

Hemant has also launched STARS-Student Achievement in Research & Scholarship, a program that enables an alumnus to assist/support a team of high achieving student and his research/project advisor. In addition to the above, HATS has taken up the task of organizing hostel level reunions for all hostel alumni on every Alumni Day.
Hemant was also an active volunteer for IITB's Golden Jubilee celebrations. He is active with SARC-Student Alumni Relation Cell and routinely interacts with several students and guides them about their hostels, careers etc.
