IIT Bombay hosted the first ever ‘Inter IIT Cultural Meet’ on the 20th and 21st December, with a total of 14 IITs participating in this 2 day cultural extravaganza. A number of competitions like english poetry, standup comedy, painting, group dance, solo singing, duet dance debate, band competition and so on were scheduled giving the participants a very broad horizon to showcase their talent. “I personally feel so grateful that IIT Bombay took the pain to organise an event of such class and quality so smoothly. It was an amazing opportunity to compete against so many other teams and learn from the motivating and inspiring panel of judges. says Harsh Sharan, IIT Kharagpur participant, whose team bagged the winner trophy in the dramatic category. It is evident that the sweat and blood of IIT Bombay’s Cultural council has finally paid off. “The main motive of this flagship event was to instill in all IITians ,the zeal and vigour of all cultural forms such as fine arts, music dramatics dance and music.” says Aakansha Bordia, General Secretary- Cultural Council, IIT Bombay. IIT Bombay emerged as the overall champion as we clenched trophies in “Design and Photography”, “Literary Arts and Music” while Kharagpur bagged the first positions in “Dramatics and Fine Arts” and tying with ISM Dhanbad in “Speaking Arts”. With the tradition of sports and technical meets running in our Institute for more than 40 years, the emergence of cult meet was bound to happen and the student council of IIT Bombay made sure that the grand opening of this new culture will remain in the hearts of all the participants for many years to come.
