Abstract:

Innovation and entrepreneurship is becoming more significant for student participation and overall development of universities in recent times. The talk elaborated this aspect with particular emphasis on how Aalto University has undertaken the challenge and how it is benefiting its growth.

About the Speaker:

Professor Tuula Teeri, PhD, is a Finnish molecular geneticist and the President of Aalto University. She has previously been a Vice President at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. Professor Teeri started as the President of Aalto University on April 1, 2009.

She holds a PhD from the University of Helsinki (1987) and was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, and the Swedish Academy of Technology in Finland. She is also as a cofounder of SweTree Technologies. Prof. Teeri is also the President of CLUSTER, consortium of top European universities in science and engineering for 2016–2018
