In one of the most innovative bids to celebrate 70 years of Independence and freedom and 75 years of the ‘Quit India Movement’, IIT Bombay celebrated ‘Yeh India ka Time hai’ in the most flamboyant of ways.
A fusion rock concert was organized at the Convocation Hall on 2nd September. The performers at the concert were Manish J. Tipu's Neo Gharana, a fusion rock band (of the Gangs of Wasseypur and Qissa fame). The truly enthralling performance witnessed huge participation and applause from the audience.
This was preceded by a ‘Manthan’ (panel discussion) on the topic of New India. The event culminated by a Sankalp (pledge) for New India. This was indeed a unique fusion of rock music and patriotism. The attendees surely walked back entertained and with a sense of patriotism.
