IIT Bombay signed a Memorandum of understanding with Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran on 26/9/2017. In order to promote cooperation the two institutions agree to encourage direct contact and mutually beneficial cooperation between their respective faculty, research institutes, departments and administrative staff.
The initial area of collaboration will be through :
Visit and exchange by faculty members and research scholars.
Joint research activities and joint supervision of research work.
Joint conference and symposia on subjects of mutual interest.
Exchange of information including, but not limited, research publications of faculty members.
Themes of joint activities, condition for utilising the results achieved as well as arrangements for specific visits and exchanges of Faculty members and researchers shall be defined on case by case specific agreement.
Tarbiat Modares University is an exclusively graduate university with its main campus in Tehran, Iran. It was founded in 1982 and is consistently ranked among top universities in Iran.Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) is the only exclusively graduate university in Iran and was founded to train university professors. Admission is through national level university exams (i.e., Concours) and in most programs is limited to top performers.
TMU includes 15 faculties: Agriculture, Arts and Architecture, Basic Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Management & Economics, Mathematical Sciences, Natural Resources & Marine Sciences and Medical Sciences.
It is the only university in Iran that offers a master program for Medical Biotechnology and only 6-9 students are admitted annually according on their performance in National Graduate Studies Entrance Exam. The university is the first and the only one in Tehran and one of the three in Iran, in which the M.Sc. degree in Nanotechnology Engineering is offered.
