IIT Bombay signed a Memorandum of understanding with Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel on June 22nd, 2018. In order to promote cooperation the two institutions agree to encourage direct contact and mutually beneficial cooperation between their respective faculty, research institutes, departments and administrative staff.
The initial area of collaboration will be through :
Visit and exchange by faculty members and research scholars.
Joint research activities and joint supervision of research work.
Joint conference and symposia on subjects of mutual interest.
Exchange of information including, but not limited, research publications of faculty members.
The Office of Dean of International Relations from IIT Bombay, and The Office of International Academic Affairs from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev have been appointed to design joint activities. The Memorandum of Understanding has been signed for 3 years and is renewable thereafter for three-year terms subject to mutual consent.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), is a public research university in Beersheba, Israel. Ben-Gurion University of the Negev has five campuses: the Marcus Family Campus, Beer Sheva; the David Bergmann Campus, Beer Sheva; the David Tuviyahu Campus, Beer Sheva; the Sede Boqer Campus, and Eilat Campus.
Ben-Gurion University is a center for teaching and research with about 20,000 students. Some of its research institutes include the National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev, the Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology, the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research with the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies, and the Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism.
