Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Amirkabir University, Tehran, Iran

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India and Amirkabir University, Tehran, Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 04/07/2018 to bolster cooperation between faculty and supporting staff on various fronts. The avenues along which this memorandum seeks to achieve this are the following:

  1. Visits by scholars and research students
  2. Exchange of information including, but not limited to, research publications of faculty members
  3. Joint research activities and joint supervision of research work
  4. Joint conferences and symposia on subjects of mutual interest

Before the initiation of any activity or programme, this memorandum requires either party to arrive at specific conditions via written or electronic correspondence at least three months prior. In the event of the memorandum lying dormant for more than three months, the agreement would be considered to have lapsed. While active, both parties will renew the memorandum every five years. Termination of the memorandum may be conducted by mutual consent or by six months’ notice from either party.

Implementation of any of the terms agreed to by IITB and AKUT should be on prior intimation to the Research Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and receiving his/her opinion on a case-to-case basis.

Amirkabir University, Tehran, Iran is one of the oldest higher education technical and engineering institutes. AUT started its activities since 1958 and over time expanded its size and quality to the point that it is presently referred to as "Iran's mother industrial university". With a background of more than 50 years of brilliant activity, it has been able to acquire a leading status among Iranian universities. AUT offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, textile engineering, medical engineering, aeronautics engineering, civil engineering and computer and information technology engineering.
