Let us welcome, Prof. Avradeep Pal to the IITB Community. Prof.Avradeep Pal has joined the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. He completed his B.Tech from IIEST Shibpur and M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2006 and 2010, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. from University of Cambridge, St. John's College, the UK in 2014
Before joining IIT Bombay, Prof.Avradeep Pal served as a Post Doctoral Research Associate, QuTech, TU Delft, The Netherlands, for almost 2 years. Along with his industry experience, Prof.Avradeep Pal also worked as Software Engineer, Infosys Technologies Limited, Bangalore, India from 2006 to 2008.
Prof.Avradeep Pal’s research interest primarily lies in Superconductor-ferromagnet interactions (Superconducting Spintronics), Growth of thin films, UHV systems and nano-fabrication, Tunneling spectroscopy and Graphene mesoscopic. In addition to this, Prof.Avradeep Pal’s interest also includes topics like superconducting film and Josephson junctions. His other interests include playing sarod, watching cricket and world politics.
When asked about his future plans at IIT Bombay, he said: "Apart from my obvious teaching interest, I also want to participate (actively involved) is research-based on graphene and software development."
