Alumination 2k19

With captivating, mesmerizing posters and banners in every corner of the institute, Alumination 2k19, the ‘Piece de Resistance’ of the Student Alumni Relations Cell, was all set to commence operation on the evening of 11 October.

The most awaited fest of SARC, Alumination is IIT Bombay’s largest platform for bilateral exchange between IITB alumni and students on a broad spectrum, spanning Career Guidance, Corporate Exposure, Life Learning, and Motivational Talks. A career fest like no other, it offers students insight into life after IITB and employment in a variety of sectors, while also hosting motivational talks, workshops, and mock interviews.

The fest threw open its doors on 11 October with a stimulating panel discussion to evaluate the current scenario of employment opportunities in the public and private sector, while also shedding light on entrepreneurship and the challenges that lie ahead of it. Three of our esteemed alumni - Mr. Arvind C. Bidaye (Scientific officer at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), Mr. Amit Mittal (Senior Manager at Aditya Birla Finance Limited) and Mr. Zishaan M. Hayath (Founder and CEO of toppr.com) presented their views on working conditions in their respective sector.

The next day, an inspiring talk on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship was delivered by our very own alumnus - Mr. Saurabh Garg, the co-founder and CBO of NoBroker.in, the most revolutionary platform for real estate in India. The talk largely aimed at instilling a raging drive in students to look for a common problem as well as a market to offer the corresponding solution.

On the final day, the fest concluded after a greatly rousing, motivational talk by Mr. Rizwan Koita, co-founder and CEO of CitiusTech, as he presented an account of his life after IITB and the invaluable insight he gained along the way.

Interspersed among these events, were a plethora of activities including mock interviews, group discussions, speed mentoring, and group mentoring. A number of workshops were conducted on topics such as finance, analytics, consulting and entrepreneurship. For those registered in the Alumni Student Mentorship Program, the ‘Break the Ice’ event was also conducted.

In totality, Alumination 2k19 witnessed enormous participation from students as well as alumni and was undoubtedly an event that will be remembered by all.
