IITB celebrates National Unity Day

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay commemorated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by observing National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on October 31, 2019. The day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in honor of his memory:

● Kendriya Vidyalaya, Powai, took a pledge during morning prayer, where the students presented a biographical sketch of SVP.

● Vice-Principal, Mr. Mithilesh Kumar Singh, praised Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s will and determination, his excellent negotiation skills and its manifestation into various strategies that united 565 self-governing princely states into a unified India post-independence. This was followed by a talk on the sagacious life and activities of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and recitation of Rashtriya Ekta Gaan by Secondary Section Students of the Vidyalaya. In addition, the following activities were also conducted:

●  Exhibition of the activities on 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'

●  Unity Run

●  Prabhat Pheri

●  Slogan Writing Competition

● Essay Writing Competition was organized on the topic “The Life Story of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel” 

● Debate on “Is Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel the Iron Man of India?”
