IIT Bombay Lifetime achievement award for Juzer Vasi

The IIT Bombay Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes outstanding individuals whose pioneering spirit and demonstrated inventiveness throughout their careers has improved our society and inspired others. IIT Bombay conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award-2013 on Prof. Juzer M. Vasi, Department of Electrical Engineering, in recognition of his outstanding contributions as teacher, researcher and administrator. The presentation ceremony was held at the F.C. Kohli Auditorium in IIT Bombay on April 19, 2013. The Lifetime Achievement Award was instituted by IIT Bombay in the year 2000 to confer on a faculty member who has served the institute at least for 20 years with distinction for a major part of their career as a faculty member, and who has made outstanding contributions towards teaching, research, industrial interaction and institution building. Lifetime Achievement Award - 2013 Prof. Juzer M. Vasi obtained his B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1969 and his Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University in 1973 and joined IIT Bombay in 1981 where he is currently a Professor. Prof. Vasi's research interests are in the area of MOS devices and technology. He is world renowned authority on the growth and characterization of MOS insulators, radiation effects in MOS devices, degradation and reliability of MOS devices, and modelling and simulation of MOS devices. He has published and presented over 100 papers in these areas, and acted as a referee for leading Indian and international journals. Prof. Vasi has interacted widely with industries in India and abroad, and been involved with many sponsored projects from government agencies and industries. Prof. Vasi's work was recognized through various prestigious awards in India and abroad. He was Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices for the MOS Devices and Technology area for over 5 years during 1997-2003, elected as a Fellow of IEEE in 2005 and was a Distinguished Lecturer (DL) of IEEE Electron Devices Society during 2001-2005. He is also a Fellow of IETE, and a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.
