The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has been ranked third in 'overall' category among the top 100 educational institutes and universities in India in the ranking list by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), released by Union Minister for Human Resource Development Mr. Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday 3rd April. IIT Bombay has secured second position in ‘Engineering’ category and fifth position in 'Management' category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which was announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India today. Last year, all the IITs had participated only in the Engineering category. The remaining three categories were Pharmacy, Management and University. This year, IIT Bombay participated in ‘Overall’, ‘Engineering’ and 'Management' categories.
