The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), and the United Arab Emirates University signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to promote cooperation between them, on 22nd January 2020. The following were agreed upon:
Faculty members from both institutions will jointly discuss and agree upon the co-supervision of doctoral students.
The initiation of the process of including faculty members from the host institution as a co-supervisor shall be the responsibility of the faculty member at the home institution.
After agreeing to jointly supervise doctoral students, faculty members from both institutions will work out a research plan to ensure that the doctoral candidates and their research work would benefit from the students spending a period of 4 to 12 months to conduct research at the host institution.
The home institution will provide financial support for one-time roundtrip airfare, visa charges, and medical insurance. Throughout the duration of their stay at the host institution to conduct their research, the IITB/UAEU students will receive financial support equivalent to the TA ship or RA ship.
