IIT-Bombay Alumni Contribute to Hostel Enhancement

After receiving a donation of ₹ 5 crores from alumni members of Hostel 5, one of the oldest Hostels of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Bombay, the Institute has kicked off renovation works.

The ground-breaking ceremony was commenced by Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT-Bombay, in the presence of several hostel five alumni members and the IIT-B alumni association. The project is a joint initiative between the Institute and the alumni association. Around 170 members, from around the world and across batches between 1964 to 2019 have contributed to renovate and enhance the hostel facilities with a state-of-the-art study area and toilet facilities.

Alumni members of Hostel 5 held a fundraising for the renovation of the hostel complex and raised ₹ 5 crores. Over the next few months, the alumni of hostel five will build enhancements to improve the quality of life in the hostel.
